Committee of Industry Award Korea (www.industryaward.co.kr) held 『Grand Prize of 2018 Industry Award Korea』 to discover and praise people, public organizations and companies contributing to manufacturing, technological innovation and creation of performance per each major industry this year, and make them good examples of the domestic manufacturing industries.

 

In an era where technologies are converging and sustainability is dominating management, it is getting important to raise recognition on the manufacturing industry in Korea. In addition, in line with the industrial development through expanding the base, it is also necessary to occupy the market by securing global competitiveness.

 

Accordingly, the Committee of Industry Award Korea has discovered people and public organizations and companies contributing to manufacturing, technological innovation and creation of performance per each major industry this year. They created 『Grand Prize of 2018 Industry Award Korea』 to praise their contributions and make them good examples of the domestic manufacturing industry. The ceremony was held in International Conference Room in Korea Press Center on the 20th floor last 18th (14:00).

 

The event is hosted by the Committee of Industry Award Korea, supervised by Industry News, and sponsored by FA Journal SMART FACTORY and SOLAR TODAY Carbon Zero. Candidates are recommended based on each field (company, people, public sections) by experts of major industry · academy · research institute in Korea, and the evaluation of their performances are evaluated.

 

In particular, the ceremony of 『Grand Prize of 2018 Industry Award Korea』 is intended to create a new growth engine and contribute to the national economic development by discovering and awarding companies creating new values through technologies and products development related to the manufacturing industry.

 

Lee, Won-Wook, Member of the Committee on Plan and Financing of the National Assembly and Woo, Won-Sik, Member of the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee of the National Assembly honored the ceremony of 『Grand Prize of 2018 Industry Award Korea』 with their presence.

 

Choi, Jeong-Sik, the Chairman of Industry Award Korea Committee, mentioned in his greeting, “We are, today, living in the 4th industrial revolution which changes paradigm of the manufacturing industry in the world. The committee established 『Industry Award Korea』 to spread the recognition of the importance of the manufacturing industry, have an opportunity to raise its status, and accelerate the manufacturing industry by discovering and awarding people, organizations and companies making a great contribution to the development of the manufacturing industry as well as coming up with solutions for the industry”.

 

In addition, the Chairman added that “Industry Award Korea will contribute to the growth of national economy by exploring new growth engines of the country as a new platform to discover companies, technologies and business solutions valuable enough for the manufacturing industry in Korea.”

 

Following this, Lee, Won-Uk, Member of the Committee on Plan and Financing of the National Assembly delivered the congratulatory message. Lee mentioned that “as Korea has been developed based on the manufacturing industry, the foundation of the 4th industrial revolution is none other than revolution of the manufacturing industry.” and added “as President Moon, Jae-In emphasized innovative growth, we need to cooperate to lead the 4th industrial revolution.”

 

The awards were given out by mainly being divided into achievement award, public section and business section. For the achievement award for the industrial development, the total of 6 members of the National Assembly were awarded: △ Lee, Won-wook, Member of the Committee on Plan and Financing of the National Assembly, △ Park, Beom-Gye, Member of the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee of the National Assembly, △ Jeong, Woo-Taek, Member of the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee of the National Assemble, △ Woo, Won-Sik, Member of Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee of the National Assembly, △ Kim, Gyu-Whan, Member of Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee of the National Assembly, △ Jeon, Hyeon-Hui, Member of the Environment and Labor Committee of the National Assembly.

 

Woo, Won-Sik winning the achievement award for the industrial development stated “I have recently been interested in promoting a platform for developing industries related to climate change and renewable energies. So, I will do my best to create new growth engines by organizing a select committee for the renewable energies development.”

 

For the public section, the total of 6 organizations were awarded: △ Chungcheongbuk-do Province, Grand Prize for Leading Industries on the local government, △ Technology and Information Promotion Agency, Grand Prize for Innovation on the public sector, △ Korea Research Institute on Climate Change (KRIC), Grand Prize for Supporting Companies on the public sector, △ Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), Grand Prize for Leading Industries on the public sector, △ Chungnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, Grand Prize for Supporting Companies on the public sector, △ Gyeongnam Technopark, Grand Prize for Supporting Companies on the public sector.
